Java Client Errors with OS/2 and Netscape 4.61 Browser
Issue
While downloading the Java ICA Client Version 6.30.1297 on an OS/2 Warp 4.x workstation with the Netscape 4.61 browser, the following errors messages may appear:
"java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundException: 4240"
"java.net.ProtocolException: WD-ICA30 cannot connect to a server that does not support UNICODE."
Resolution
Disable the Just In Time (JIT) compiler for the Java Virtual Machine on the OS/2 workstation. You can update this within the Netscape browser as follows:
1. From the Edit menu, and select Preferences.
2. In the tree view on the left hand side, select OS/2 Preferences.
3. In the pane on the right, activate the IBM Java Properties button.
4. In the Java Options text field, type -nojit.
