This document details the process for adding and editing X11 Connections in Windows 2000 and Windows NT.

To add an X11 connection in Windows 2000:

1. On the Action menu, click Create New Connection.

2. In the Terminal Services Connection Wizard, click Next.

3. In the Connection Type list, click X-11. Click Next.

4. Select standard Windows authentication if required. Click Next.

5. Select remote control options if required. Click Next.

6. Enter a name for the connection and a comment if required. The X-11 transport type is entered automatically. Click Next.

7. Select a suitable network adaptor and enter the number of users required. If you do not want to limit the number of connections click Unlimited Connections. Click Next.

8. Click Finish to save the connection.

To edit an existing X11 connection in Windows 2000:

When editing an existing type of connection, ensure that you log on to the MetaFrame server console or connect using a connection of a different type, because the MetaFrame server may need to perform a session reset.

1. Use Terminal Server Administration to check that all connections of the type you want to edit are idle.

2. Select the connection from the list.

3. On the Action menu, click Properties.

4. Change the options as required. Click OK.

Adding and Editing X11 Connections in Windows NT
:

Use Terminal Server Connection Configuration add new X11 connections or to configure existing X11 connections.

To add an X11 connection in Windows NT:

1. On the Connection menu, click New. The New Connection dialog box appears.

2. In the Type list, click X11. The Transport type is automatically set to the required value of X11.

3. If required, type an alternative identification name for the connection in the Name box.

4. Type text in the Comment box to provide an additional description of the connection.

5. For network transport connections (for example, those that use the X11 transport protocol), you can create multiple connections by selecting the
Unlimited check box, or by clearing the Unlimited check box and specifying the number of connections to be created in the Maximum Connection Count box.

6. Click Advanced to specify advanced configuration options, if required.

7. Click OK to create the connection. Click Cancel or press ESC to cancel the operation.

To edit an existing X11 connection in Windows NT:

When editing an existing type of connection, ensure that you log on to the MetaFrame server console or connect using a connection of a different type, because the MetaFrame server may need to perform a session reset.

1. Use Terminal Server Administration to check that all connections of the type you want to edit are idle.

2. Select the connection from the list.

3. On the Connection menu, click Edit.

4. Edit the required information, then click OK to change the connection configuration. Click Cancel or press ESC to cancel the operation.

Configuring X11 Connections on WINFRAME 1.7 and WINFRAME 1.8 Servers

For WINFRAME 1.7:
Use WinStation Configuration to create, configure, and maintain X11
connections to WINFRAME 1.7 servers.

For WINFRAME 1.8:
Use Citrix Connection Configuration to create, configure, and maintain X11
connections to WINFRAME 1.8 servers.
