How to Upgrade Netscaler SDX/SVM From Version 10.5 to Version 11.0

Netscaler SDX 11.0 utilizes a new Upgrade Appliance procedure which uses a SDX Bundle that combines SVM, XenServer, Supplemental Pack, and Hotfixes all in one single file. ?? ??Netscaler SDX 10.5 and earlier do not contain support for these SDX Bundles. ??

NOTE: The upgrades below will reboot the entire SDX appliance (including all VMs) several times. ??Prior to performing this procedure, fail over all Primary HA Nodes to a different SDX. ??If you do not have HA capability, be sure to plan for the downtime accordingly.

1. Download the??SVM Upgrade Package 11.0 Build 55.20 from this location: ??https://download.citrix.com/downloads/netscaler-adc/service-delivery-appliances/sdx-bundle-110-5520.html?? This file is a standard SVM upgrade that SVM 10.5 and 10.1 can utilize.
2. Upload the SVM Upgrade Package 11.0 Build 55.20 to the SVM GUI using Configuration -> Management Service -> Software Images
3. Perform the SVM upgrade by clicking on System -> Upgrade Management Service
4. The SVM will reboot during the above step
5. After the reboot, verify that the SVM is now running 11.0 / Build 55.20
6. Download the appropriate??SDX Platform Software Bundle for the SDX build you wish to remain on. ??(if you intend to stay on Build 55.20, you must still downgrade the Platform Software Bundle in order to perform the required XenServer upgrades).
7. Upload the bundle and perform the upgrade via the SVM GUI at System -> Upgrade Appliance. ??NOTE that the entire appliance including all instances will reboot several times during this procedure.
