Question and Answers

Citrix and Microsoft have received reports of, and confirmed, a bug impacting data sharing when external HDX RealTime Optimization Pack 2.0.x users participate in Skype for Business calls. This issue prevents application and desktop sharing and file sharing between external-to-internal or internal-to-external Skype for Business clients but does not impact PowerPoint sharing. This bug has been isolated to the Skype for Business 2015 client with the February 9th and March 8th 2016 Public Updates (PU), needed for optimized delivery from XenApp and XenDesktop, and a potential fix is currently being tested in our labs. The impact of this issue is that data sharing between internal and external users that require Media Relay through the Edge Server will fail so if users are working remotely sharing would most likely fail.

Citrix is looking for input from early adopters of the HDX RealTime Optimization Pack 2.0.x to understand, based on their planned use cases and deployment schedule, if this issue would impact their roll-out plans and, if so, when they would require a fix (either a private or public PU) in order to achieve their schedule objectives. Customers who urgently need to use the affected functionality in production should advise their Microsoft rep or Microsoft Tech Support.
