Citrix recommends to configure UTC time zone on CloudPlatform and CPBM.
Reasons for using UTC time zone
- Day light Saving Time can make it difficult to bill a customer using CPBM.
For example, If a Virtual Machine (VM) was launched during 1-APR-2013 at 02:30 Sydney Time and the current time is 1-APR-2013 03:30 Sydney time, the VM might be running either 1 hour or 2 hours. The reason for wrong calculation is, at 1-APR-2013 03:00, the clock resets back to 02:00, therefore, 02:30 is considered twice. - When working with support engineers and analyzing an environment, reviewing logs can be difficult when the system is not configured with UTC time zone.
- In the CloudPlatform and CPBM user interface, the preferred time zone (local time) can be configured to a specific profile.
