XenServer 5.5 Update 1 and Update 2 Compatibility in Japanese Environment

Summary

XenServer 5.5 Update 1 and Update 2 adds additional support for Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 as well as rolling up a large number of hotfixes and resolving a number of functional and stability issues on the 5.5 platform released in June 2009. This article contains information about XenServer 5.5 Update 1 and Update 2 compatibility in Japanese environment.

XenServer 5.5 Update 1 and Update 2 has been tested in Japanese environments and confirmed that these updates functions correctly.

Both Update 1 and Update 2 has a XenServer update and a new XenCenter version, the XenCenter version for Update 1 and Update 2 are not localized in Japanese, whereas the previous XenCenter version XenCenter 5.5 had been localized to Japanese. The release of Update 2 version supersedes the Update 1 release, so it is recommended to upgrade XenServer 5.5 environments (or XenServer 5.5 Update 1 environments) to XenServer 5.5 Update 2 environments.

Customers using the Japanese XenCenter 5.5 can take one of following action.

l Upgrade or fresh install XenCenter version 5.5.2 (Update 2) English which is available from web location: http://www.citrix.com/lang/English/lp/lp_1688615.asp

l Continue to use XenCenter version 5.5.0 Japanese
