Summary

This article describes how to leverage Web Interface to deploy the new 11.2 Web Client.

Requirements

Web Interface 5.x

CitrixOnlinePluginWeb.exe

Background

The new ICA client is an .exe file. As a workaround, the .msi can be extracted from the .exe manually.

Procedure

Use the following steps to complete the task:

Note: It is assumed that client deployment is already enabled in Web Interface.

1. To extract the .msi files, type the following command at a command prompt:
CitrixOnlinePluginWeb.exe /extract [Destination_name]

where Destination _name is the directory into which the the .msi files are extracted. This directory must exist already, because /extract does not create it.

2. Rename ICAWebWrapper.msi to XenAppWeb.msi

3. Place the new XenAppWeb.msi file into C:\Program Files\Citrix\Web Interface\5.x\Clients\ica32 on the Web Interface 5.x server.

4. Restart IIS.

Note: Upgrades are supported only from:
Citrix Presentation Server Client 10.200
Citrix XenApp Plugin for Hosted Apps 11.0
Desktop Receiver 11.1
Citrix online app plug-in 11.1 versions of the plug-in.

Remove any earlier versions before installing the online plug-in.
